E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo - Nintendo Updates
17th June 2010: 3DS launch, launch games and new Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Details
The biggest piece of hardware at E3 this year was the 3DS. It places game in 3D without the need for glasses. It will launch with games like Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D "The Naked Sample" Resident Evil Relevations, Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy, three Shin Megami Tensei games and the game featured below Kid Icarus: Uprising - Giant Bomb(If ever I was to buy a piece of Nintendo kit, something I've never done, it would probably be this. It's a much more interesting version of 3D than Sony's 3D gaming in my opinion. I would love some more Metal Gear Solid 3 and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona too. What I'm concerned about is how much is the 3DS going to go down the same route as the PSP, I'm sure Nintendo are already aware of how the PSP's failings came down to porting inferior versions of existing console games.)
The long awaited relaunch of Legend of Zelda is here. Skyward Sword features realistic Wii motion gameplay and is to be released in 2011. (It looks like the Legend of Zelda, not much more needs to be said. I approve of the blend of art styles. I don't think Link should be in fully realist graphics or in a completely cel-shaded world. I felt very awkward watching the live demo, the game would not work at all.)
