What If Other Video Game Franchises Used The Decision System Of Dragon Age: Origins #2- Devil May Cry Franchise

What if Dante killed Vergil in DMC 3, took his half of the amulet and unlocked the power of Sparda there and then?

Option 1: Defeat Vergil, preventing him from gaining the full power of your father and leave him in the Demon World where he goes on to fight, lose and be corrupted by Mundus. Later dying at your hand as Nelo Angelo, with you unleashing the full power of Sparda and defeating Mundus on Earth as Sparda did 2000 years earlier.
Option 2: Decide that Vergil is too dangerous to be left to his own devices, take out him permanently and use his half of the amulet to unleash Sparda's full power yourself. Therefore saving you the trouble of going up against him later.

Outcome - "A world without Vergil isn't a fun place"

What changes what this have on the Devil May Cry Universe?

Well for starters DMC1 would be a much easier game, full Sparda powers? No Nelo Angelo in sight? Sounds good to me. But what will this do to Dante's confidence? Maybe he'll just kill Trish after she betrays him? Or will his memories of his mother still keep Dante's ego in check. I think he'll be fine, in fact, he may become even more like his father.

Moving on to the next game in the franchise's chronological order you've got Devil May Cry 4. It may not seem apparent at first but so much of the game revolves around Vergil. You've got all the Angelo transformations that were created using the soul of Vergil and his own sword, the Yamato. Without them The Order is going to be a pushover. If Nero's Devil Bringer arm is the escaped soul of Vergil as a lot of people speculate than Nero is just another skilled swordsman.

Finally there's the game that most pretend doesn't exist. That's right, Devil May Cry 2. Dante already gave everyone in that game a beating, the only difference is that he'd have never given Trish the Sparda sword so it would be up to him whether he decides to use the Rebellion or the Sparda.

If there's one thing that holds the games of the DMC franchise together it's giving Dante opponents that actually make him try, without that he's too overpowered, like Bayonetta overpowered. The fact that he chooses not to wield his Sparda sword makes the games fun to play. In this case I'm going to say that taking away the challenge by killing Vergil may hamper your experience.
